Lychee

Binomial name: Litchi chinensis Sonn.

This tree is 10 m tall and its top has a globular and very populated form.

Origin: it comes from South China and it is cultivated since 2000 B.C.; originally from the lowlands of Kwangtung and Fukien.

Medicinal values: it is rich in potassium and its low contribution in sodium, together with the antioxidants, are very good against high blood pressure, heart and cardiovascular diseases. It relieves throat discomfort and its seeds are provided as analgesic.
