Lime

Binomial name: Citrus aurantifolia Chistum.

The lime is not a particularly vigourous tree. It is able to reach 3 to 5 meter height; this is why it can be considered a bush.

Origin: originally from Asia -more specifically tropical Asia- though with the Muslim expansion it soon arrived to Spain.

Medicinal values: it is mainly disinfectant and astringent. It works as a natural antibiotic and cholesterol level regulator; it calms feverish states; it treats skin diseases, and it fights arteriosclerosis and gout.
